Housing Prices in Batumi: Where to Stay and What to Consider
When planning a trip to Batumi, an important question is the choice of housing. Rental prices can vary depending on the area, time of year and type of housing. Below we will look at the key areas of Batumi and their features, as well as current housing prices in Batumi.
Batumi Old Town - the best place to rent
Batumi Old Town is the heart of the city with narrow streets, atmospheric houses and cozy cafes. Here you will find ancient architecture, numerous attractions and proximity to the sea. The Old Town includes the area between Rustaveli and Chavchavadze streets and extends to Europe Square. Tourists who prefer the atmosphere of the historical center will appreciate this place for its color and convenience.
Renting an apartment in Batumi for the duration of your vacation in the Old Town will cost more than in other parts of the city, but it's worth it. The proximity to the beach and main attractions makes the Old Town popular among tourists. During the season, apartment prices can rise to $100 per day for comfortable options with a sea view. In the off-season, prices are significantly reduced, and you can find cozy accommodation for $40-50 per day.
New buildings by the sea: pros and cons
Many tourists choose apartments in Batumi in new high-rise buildings located along the embankment. However, you should be careful when choosing housing in complexes such as Orbi City. These "human anthills" are attractive due to their proximity to the sea, but they have a number of disadvantages.
During the season, renting housing in Batumi in new buildings can cause inconvenience: noisy neighbors, elevators that you have to wait 30 minutes for, and a lack of infrastructure around the buildings. Many apartments in such complexes have transparent balcony partitions, which reduces the level of privacy. Tourists often complain about the smell of cigarette smoke and poor sound insulation. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax, it is better to choose another area.
Long-term rental: how to save
If you plan to stay in Batumi for a long time, it is best to look for housing off-season. Prices for apartments with normal repairs and gas supply start at $400 per month. Studio apartments are rented cheaper - from $300, but they are usually equipped with electric stoves.
Apartment prices in Batumi depend on the location and quality of housing. Families are better off choosing full-fledged apartments or private houses closer to the mountains, where it is quieter and calmer.
Daily rent in season
At the height of the tourist season, prices for daily rent apartments can skyrocket by 2-3 times. Simple studio apartments can be rented from $22 per night, but these will be budget options without special amenities. If you prefer comfortable housing, be prepared to pay about $50-80 per day.
Alternative to hotels
Batumi also has a large selection of hotels, but hotel prices in Batumi during the season can be higher than renting an apartment. For those looking for budget options, it is best to book accommodation in advance or look for options in private guest houses.
