Martvili Canyon is located near the city of the same name, about 60 km from Kutaisi, 152 km from Batumi and 283 km from Tbilisi. You can get to the canyon by car, as well as use the services of transfers and organized tours. The journey from Batumi to the canyon takes about two hours, making it convenient for a one-day visit.
Since the canyon involves active pastime, it is better to wear comfortable clothes and shoes, such as shorts, a T-shirt and sneakers or sandals. It is not recommended to wear shoes with heels, as some parts of the route can be slippery.
About an hour is enough to fully explore the canyon and take a boat ride. Taking into account the road and possible stops along the way, it is better to allocate a few hours for the visit in order to have time to enjoy the nature and take a photo for memory.
