Where to Stay in Kutaisi: The Ultimate Accommodation Guide

Find the perfect base for exploring Imereti. A complete guide to the best hotels, boutique stays, and cozy guesthouses in Kutaisi
For 1-2 nights in Kutaisi, the centre near the Colchis Fountain and the White Bridge is the most convenient base: the main sights are within walking distance. The Old Town around Bagrati Cathedral, with its traditional guesthouses, is quieter. According to 2026 booking-site data, a guesthouse costs about 20-35 US dollars a night, a central hotel about 55-95, and the average night in the city about 45 dollars. Below: the areas, staying before a flight and how many days to plan.
Where to stay in Kutaisi
- City centre - the Colchis Fountain, the White Bridge and the Rioni river are close. The main street is noisy in the evening and parking depends on luck; a side street a few minutes away is quieter but may involve stairs and slopes.
- Old Town by Bagrati - historic houses and guesthouses, a walk to the cathedral. It is further from the station and buses; the centre is a walk or a taxi away.
- Outer areas are cheaper, but you will need minibuses or taxis.
- Tskaltubo, 7 km from the city, suits those coming for the mineral springs; you will need a car or a taxi.
The centre of Kutaisi is calm in the evening. If you drive, note that city parking is paid (Parking Service): in 2026 an hour costs 0.5 GEL and a day 2 GEL. Do not pay attendants in vests - the spot will not be officially paid.
To compare guesthouses and hotels for your dates, search places to stay in Kutaisi on Booking: some take no prepayment and you pay on arrival.
Staying before a flight or after landing
Kutaisi Airport is 23 km from the centre, and there are no hotels at the airport itself: the nearest guesthouses are in the villages of Bashi, Ianeti and Partskhanakanevi, 2.6-8 km away. We suggest staying in the centre and taking the shuttle: it runs around the clock, roughly every two hours, takes about 40 minutes and costs 5 GEL (2026). Pay by bank card on board; cash is not accepted. If you are heading straight to the coast, book a car with a driver from Kutaisi Airport to Batumi from 200 GEL; the bus to Batumi costs 30 GEL and takes about 2 hours 30 minutes. How many days to spend in Kutaisi
We think 1-2 days are enough for Kutaisi. Day one is the city on foot: the market, the Colchis Fountain, the White Bridge, Bagrati Cathedral and the cable car. Day two is Prometheus Cave and Sataplia, or Okatse Canyon and Kinchkha Waterfall. More about the city is on our Kutaisi page.
If you are based in Batumi, you do not need to stay overnight in Kutaisi for the cave: we go there on a day trip. Pick-up is at a stop near your hotel in Batumi; joining the group in Kutaisi along the way is not possible.
