Where to stay in Georgia

Top 10 Hostels in Tbilisi for Solo Travelers

Looking for a vibrant place to stay? Here are the best hostels in Tbilisi with great community vibes, central locations, and modern facilities

A hostel is the cheapest way to stay in central Tbilisi: according to 2026 travel guides, a dorm bed costs about 8-12 US dollars a night in winter (November to March) and about 12-20 in summer. Most hostels are in and around the Old Town, which is lively but noisy in the evening. Below: how to choose a hostel and what to check before you book.

Which area to choose

The Old Town and Sololaki suit those who want to walk everywhere: Narikala, the Bridge of Peace and the sulphur baths are close. The downside is evening noise, especially around Shardeni and Erekle II streets. Avlabari, across the river, is quieter and has a metro station. The best-known hostel in the city is Fabrika at 8 Ninoshvili Street: a former Soviet sewing factory where, since 2016, the courtyard has housed a hostel, bars, workshops and a coworking space. Besides dorms, it has private rooms with bathrooms. The areas are compared in our guide to Tbilisi neighbourhoods.

What to check before booking

  • Female-only dorms and a lockable locker for each bed.
  • A shared kitchen - it saves a lot on food over a week.
  • Air conditioning in summer: July and August days can go above 30 °C.
  • A bar in the courtyard: good for meeting people, less so for sleep - read reviews about noise.
  • Late arrival: whether reception works at night if your train or flight arrives late.

Booking and luggage

Hostel prices change with the dates, so compare them for your exact nights and browse Tbilisi hostels on Booking: some take no prepayment and you pay on arrival.

If check-in is in the afternoon and you arrive in the morning, leave your bags at a luggage storage in Tbilisi. The metro is the easiest way around: 1 GEL for 90 minutes with a Metromoney card (2026).
